After reading this story Rimjhim said to Baadal, “I am glad that Bhau understood the importance of education and became successful in life. He finally made a good decision.He could have achieved this much earlier if he had not taken some bad decisions without thinking about their consequences’’ “Yes Rimjhim,’’ said Baadal, “all the decisions we make have some consequences. I remember once I had to prepare for my Hindi test but I kept postponing it. I wanted to watch TV a little longer or keep chatting with my friends. I thought Hindi is an easy subject and it can be done later. I kept doing something or the other and then I had only 1 day to prepare for it. I usually get very good marks in Hindi but I scored very poorly on that test because of my wrong decisions. If I had given more importance to the test which was 10 days away instead of always wanting to have fun, I would have done well and felt happier now.’’ Rimjhim replied, “Wow Baadal , you have really explained this well. Before making any decisions we should look at what we really want in life. We should think, whether what we are doing right now will help us in some way to get what we want in the future. If we don’t have enough self-control, we will not focus on what we really want and just keep doing things which seem fun or comfortable at that time. ’’
Glossary: Consequence- the effect of some action or event e.g. if we sleep late, the consequence is that we feel sleepy next morning.
